CBD Explained

By: VaVaVape Staff  |  Revised: 2015

Now that we are offering the option to add CBD hemp oil to your juice, we realize this has raised a lot of questions. So, in this article we are going to discuss what CBD is, how it's obtained and hopefully ease your mind with some worries regarding CBD Hemp Oil.

What is CBD?

CBD (cannabidiol) is a naturally occurring cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant. It makes up 40% off the plant. CBD hemp oil is devoid of psychoactive effects because of the lack of THC (Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol). CBD has become one of the most studied, naturally occurring cannabinoids. Some researchers suggest that it may be the most important cannabinoid ever discovered.

How is CBD obtained?

CBD is extracted from Industrial Hemp which is now legally grown in the United States. The Hemp Oil, which contains the CBD, is extracted from the seeds and mature stalks of the Hemp plant with the use of supercritical CO2 extraction. This is the best approach for producing the highest quality hemp oils and extracts.

The CBD hemp oil we use is extracted from non-GMO hemp that is grown without the use of pesticides, herbicides and chemical fertilizers. All of which is grown on family owned farms who believe in sustainable agriculture.

Will I get high from CBD Hemp Oil?

This is an easy one... No, it will not get you high. Hemp and marijuana are two very different varieties of Cannabis. Marijuana is cultivated for high levels of THC, which is the psychoactive ingredient that provides the feeling of being ’high’ and low levels of CBD. Marijuana is grown with an emphasis on the buds of the plant, which contains the highest concentration of THC. Male plants are typically removed because cross pollination would lower the THC in the female plant.

Hemp is quiet different. Industrial hemp is grown for its fibers. Which happen to be some of the strongest natural fibers. Hemp plants have almost undetectable levels of THC and higher levels of CBD. Hemp plants are planted really close together in order to promote cross pollination and tall growth. The pollination will produce a large amount of seeds which can be used for further crops or used in the production of hemp oil.

Industrial hemp has been used world wide for thousands of years for industrial and medical purposes. Ropes, clothing, sails, paper and thousands of other products can all be created using industrial hemp.

Please be aware that the CBD hemp oil we use does contain very small amounts of THC, but it is below the legal limit of 0.9%. This amount is way too low for it to ever get you 'high'. However, we simply do not know if it will have any effect on a drug test. So, please use at your own discretion.

Is CBD hemp oil Legal?

Yes, although hemp cultivation may not be legal in all states, the import of finished hemp products are 100% legal in all states. Some estimate over $2 billion dollars of hemp products are imported into the country per year. At one point in our history, hemp cultivation was legal and a thriving crop for many farmers including George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin. During that time, you could even pay your taxes with hemp.

What extactly does VaVaVape offer?

We offer shots of CBD hemp oil that can be added to your favorite VaVaVape E-Juice. You can add a 50mg shot, a 100mg shot or a 150mg shot to either your 10ml or 30ml bottle. Some people choose to use CBD in place of nicotine, but if you wish, you can have both.

It is important to know, CBD hemp oil does have a distinct flavor. No, it doesn't taste like marijuana, but it has been described by several as an 'earthy' flavor. This will cause the normal flavor of the juice to be different. The higher the mg shot, the more powerful the CBD hemp oil flavor will be. Add at your discretion, all e-juice sales are final.

Will this help with my [insert ailment here]?

This is an unknown and we do not make any claims that CBD hemp oil can or might help with any medical issue. There isn't enough proven research to suggest that this is the case. We encourage you to do your own research. Dig around for stories and articles published on the internet and come to your own conclussion.
